My Story

Hey, I’m Chelbie!

I am the heart and soul behind Wild We Birth, where I offer compassionate doula support rooted in care, connection, and advocacy. My passion for supporting families began in my early years, shaped by my upbringing on the central coast of California and deepened through my experiences working with children and families around the world.

My journey into birth work began in high school when I witnessed a mother giving birth without having autonomy over her own body. That experience stayed with me and sparked a deep commitment to changing the way we support birth, centering the voices, choices, and dignity of birthing people.

This path led me to study Child Development and spend many years in Germany teaching kindergarten. During that time, I developed a strong relationship with children and families and came to understand the importance of meaningful support in the earliest years of life. I believe that creating a nurturing future begins right at the beginning, with birth.

In addition to my doula practice, I currently work as a pedagogist with the Early Childhood Pedagogy Network. In this role, I support educators in reflecting on their practices, thinking deeply with children, and creating responsive and relational early learning environments. Because of this work, I am not currently supporting births, but I continue to offer postpartum doula care and would be honoured to walk alongside you during those tender early weeks and months after birth.

As a doula, I am dedicated to providing evidence-based education, unbiased support, and strong advocacy for birthing people. I aim to create a peaceful and loving environment that welcomes both your baby and your own unfolding journey into parenthood.

When I am not supporting families, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, making art, reading, and baking sourdough bread.

I am currently based in New Westminster, BC, and proudly support families in Vancouver and Metro Vancouver. If you are looking for postpartum support in any of these areas, I would love to connect with you.
